Ever wish you could sit down with like-minded women and talk about issues that matter to you?
That is what we did Wednesday, May 30. I was invited to participate in a Table Talk sponsored by Mission Support Alliance’s Synergy Network. In particular, we discussed the overwhelming expectations placed on girls and women, how we navigate all the schedules and busy-ness of our society, and how to find balance. Many of the network members brought their teen and young adult daughters, who joined the discussion. (I love these girls for keeping it real!)
Child mental health specialist Madora Sadler and I served as panelists. The discussion was moderated by NBC Right Now anchor and journalist Tracci Dial.
This weekend I had the pleasure of speaking to mothers and daughters at Photos by Galicia’s annual mother-daughter event for the Street Team. It was such a pleasure getting to know these girls and talking to them about their unique identities.
Thanks so much to Galicia Virgen for this amazing opportunity!
Many thanks to all of you who stopped to see me at Safety Connect 2018. We had over 600 middle and high school students attend the event. I gave out nearly 1000 bookmarks and talked to several kids about how they manage stress.
Last week was awesome. I held a free workshop on hooks & stakes at our local library, and we had a full house. Not only that, I saw lots of new faces. That means that word is getting out. Our local writing community is reaching more people and bringing them into the writing fold, which makes me very happy.
So now… [drumroll]…
I’m offering an intensive, two-day novel-writing workshop.
I spent too much time writing badly.
I cranked out five novels while reading various craft books and attending conferences. I felt like the advice I got was hit and miss. I wanted a more comprehensive, interactive learning environment for writing the novel. I signed up for an MFA program, which was a chunk of cash.
I don’t want you to have to pay $40k to learn the craft of the novel. I’m bringing you all the best lessons I’ve learned over the past decade and boiling them down to 16 hours.
I’m also hard at work writing a workbook to go along with the class. And we’re going to have fun!
So, save yourself thousands of dollars and a decade of bad drafts and sign up for this two-day workshop here.
Today kicks off the Before They Find Us Blog Tour with Xpresso Book Tours! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such an awesome group of book bloggers. Make sure to hit every stop. And, don’t forget to register for the giveaway!
